SUSTAINABLE ART AWARENESS PROJECT
08 November - 30 November 2023
Artbooth Gallery is delighted to introduce its inaugural "Sustainable Art Awareness Project" in partnership with the Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island. This project aims to support artists in the UAE who embrace sustainable art practices. In a world where environmental degradation looms large, it's imperative that we raise awareness and foster environmental sustainability in our community.

The exhibition will be on display at the Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island from 8th November through 30th November and features the remarkable Lebanese-born Emirati Artist, Noura Al Ramahi, who has been dedicated to sustainable art mediums since 2018. Al Ramahi's artistic journey is a form of meditative repetition, drawing inspiration from her daily walks – an act of repeated movement in itself. Her works beautifully capture the nature she encounters during these strolls, from sunrises and sunsets to the Earth and the sea. Notably, she repurposes found materials, such as wax paper from a cheese order, cardboard from an Amazon package, or a paper bag from a retail brand.

Describing her work, Ali-Ramahi explains, "My new creations are a testament to how found materials fuel my creativity. Every art piece in this exhibition is crafted from everyday materials. I've strived to minimise waste and contribute to the reduction of landfills. As a certified diver, I've witnessed the alarming amount of our oceans filled with debris and plastic. This is my way of transforming paper waste from my home into something exquisite. If this exhibition accomplishes one thing, I hope it inspires people to find more creative ways to reuse paper." Her art embodies the process of repetition and meditation, focusing on the journey rather than the end result. Al Ramahi invites audiences to immerse themselves in her work, to meditate upon it, and to derive their own unique meaning from each piece.
