Kim Tschang Yeul
(1929 ~ 2021)

Kim Tschangyeul initially started his artistic career focusing on abstraction, but in 1972, he began creating artworks using water droplets as his subject matter. This led to him being known as the 'Water Droplet Artist', and his works gained widespread popularity not only among the general public but also within the art community in Korea and abroad. Kim Tschangyeul’s artworks are regarded as significant contributions to contemporary Korean art.

His works are included in the collections of prestigious art museums internationally, alongside renowned artists like Nam June Paik and Lee Ufan. Especially in France, where he was active, Kim Tschangyeul is documented as an artist of great importance. Through this, his artworks are recognized internationally, contributing not only to the development of Korean art but also exerting a significant influence on the global art scene.
