chaouki chamoun(B.1942)

Lebanese artist Chaouki Chamoun, born in 1942, graduated with honors from the Lebanese University in 1972. He earned a Master of Fine Arts from Syracuse University in 1975 and pursued further studies at New York University until 1979. Since 1975, he has showcased his work globally in over forty One-Man Shows and participated in over sixty group exhibitions. Chamoun, a respected educator, has taught art at various universities and is renowned for his interior architecture designs in major New York projects since 1989. In 2007, he set a record sale for a living Lebanese artist at Christie’s auction. Art Price ranked him among the top 50 newly auctioned artists worldwide. Arabian Business Magazine named him one of the Power 500 most influential Arab professionals in 2011. Chamoun's works have been featured in charity auctions benefiting educational and social institutions since 2008.
